Dropshipping Brazil: Sourcing from China with COD-Ready Fulfilment
As a Brazilian seller building an online business, your biggest constraints are usually the same three: product cost, product range, and the customs/tax wall between you and your suppliers. COD DropShip, operated by Mutual Dropshipping, is a sourcing and fulfilment company based in Yiwu, China. This page explains, plainly and without exaggeration, how the model works for the Brazilian market — including what we are not.
Sourcing from China for the Brazilian Market
We are not a factory. We are a sourcing and fulfilment partner that buys on your behalf from Yiwu International Trade City — the world's largest wholesale market for small commodities — and from the manufacturing belts around Yiwu: Jinhua, Yongkang, Pujiang and Dongyang. That geographic concentration matters for you: household goods, hardware and tools, bags, jewellery and accessories, textiles and apparel, toys, small appliances and seasonal gifts can all be sourced, consolidated and quality-checked within one supply base instead of five.
For Brazilian sellers, the practical benefit is range. Brazilian consumers respond to novelty and price — accessories, gadgets, home organisation items, party and seasonal goods. A Yiwu supply base lets you test many SKUs at low unit cost without committing to container-scale quantities, because our dropshipping service has no minimum order quantity. You pay product cost + shipping + a per-order handling fee of US$0.50 / $0.75 / US$1.00 depending on the product. The app and quality checks are free and there is no subscription fee; storage is free for the first 30 days at our China and US warehouses, and storage beyond 30 days is charged at rates confirmed in your quote.
Be Clear: Goods Ship from China — There Is No Brazilian Local Stock or Company
We want to be unambiguous, because this is where many sellers are misled. Your goods ship from China. COD DropShip does not operate a Brazilian local company, has no Brazilian local office address, and holds no stock inside Brazil. We assist Brazilian sellers through local offices in Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Mexico for Latin America regional matters, and through Portuguese-speaking account managers — but the product itself is dispatched from our China operation.
Why do sellers still choose a China supplier? Two reasons, both commercial. Unit cost: sourcing directly at Yiwu wholesale price levels leaves room for advertising spend, COD fees and margin after international shipping — a local wholesaler's price already contains their own import costs and margin. Assortment: the breadth of the Yiwu manufacturing belts lets you find, compare and consolidate products that simply are not stocked locally in the quantities and variety you need. The trade-off is transit time, and that is what DDP and overseas-warehouse options are designed to manage.
DDP: Handling Brazil's Tax and Customs Complexity at Order Level
Brazil's tax and customs environment is one of the most demanding in the world for cross-border sellers. Instead of leaving you to navigate it alone, we offer DDP (door to door, with tax and customs clearance handled under the order agreement) alongside EXW, FOB Ningbo/Shanghai and CIF terms. Under DDP, clearance and duties are handled within the order agreement, so your per-order cost is defined up front rather than discovered at the border.
Our documentation handling covers the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (CO/Form A), bill of lading, insurance policy and export customs declaration, plus HS code advice and document pre-checks before dispatch. Our Latin America local offices support customs clearance, warehousing and distribution, VAT/tax paperwork and after-sales coordination. For dropship orders, tracking syncs back to your store automatically, and damaged or lost parcels are reshipped free or refunded — except where the recipient address provided was wrong.
Portuguese-Speaking Support and COD Fulfilment
Cash on delivery is a mainstream payment habit for online shoppers in Latin America, and this service is built for COD sellers: per-order fulfilment, door-to-door delivery options and local-language support reduce the friction of selling COD from a China supply base. Account managers speak Spanish, Portuguese, German, English and Russian. A dedicated account manager and our sourcing service are activated once you have placed at least one order; sourcing quotes are completed the same day (China time) for customers with orders, while inquiries without an order take about 24-72 hours.
Transit Times: Sea Freight and Air Options
Set expectations with your customers accordingly. Sea freight to South America runs 45-55 days. Air freight door to door takes 7-15 days, international express 3-7 days worldwide, and China-Europe rail 20-30 days (relevant if you also serve other markets). For dropship orders specifically: products already in stock ship within 1 day; orders that need sourcing first ship within 3 business days after payment. The freight figures above are general transport references for planning shipments; the delivery window for an individual dropship order is the one confirmed for its route in your quote, and that is the window to publish to your customers. Overseas-warehouse direct shipping can shorten delivery by 7-20 days where applicable.
The Mixed Model: Dropship to Test, Then Consolidated Bulk
Most successful sellers we work with run two stages. Stage one: dropship individual orders to test demand, creatives and COD conversion on real Brazilian buyers, with no MOQ and no inventory risk. Stage two: once a SKU proves itself, move to our bulk line — sourcing agent services with product selection by target price and channel, 3-5 alternative supplier options compared on cost, lead time and quality risk, supplier screening and audit, samples (first custom sample usually 7-15 days), full-process quality control (IQC/IPQC/OQC, AQL 2.5/4.0, photo and video inspection reports), multi-SKU consolidation into one shipment, and custom packaging with multilingual labels. Bulk MOQs are usually 100-800 units per SKU depending on category. Payment: T/T 30% deposit + 70% balance is standard; L/C for larger orders; PayPal/Alipay for small test orders under US$2,000.
Plan seasonality deliberately: South America buying peaks around Carnival and Children's Day, and holiday production capacity should be locked 90-120 days ahead.
